Open to all artists living in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C., this exhibition represents a strong collection of works by emerging and master-level fine artists. There will be $2,500 dollars (in total) cash awards.  The artist winning the Best in Show award will receive a $1,500.00 cash award in addition to a solo exhibition running concurrent to our 10th Regional Juried Biennial Exhibition in 2022. Fine art works in both 2-D and 3-D media are accepted.

Juror of Selection: Robin Craren

Robin Craren is the Collections Research Coordinator at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, PA, where she manages and helps to develop research about the museum’s permanent collection. She holds a B.A. in Art History and Political Science from the University of Vermont and received her M.A. in Art History from Temple University. Prior to her work at the Barnes Foundation, Ms. Craren held positions at the Foundations of the Unions League of Philadelphia and the Rosenbach Museum & Library in a collections’ management capacity, organizing and cataloguing items including paintings, print, sculpture, and other fine and decorative arts. Additionally, she has held positions in exhibitions at the Abington Art Center in Jenkintown, PA, and the Danforth Museum of Fine Art in Framingham, MA, where she worked in a curatorial capacity with staff, and assisted in preparing juried, solo, and group shows.

Judge of Awards: Charles Plante
Charles Plante is a Cambridge University educated art historian and art dealer based in London and New York. His art dealing business was established in 1988 in European works of art of 18th and 19th centuries; in addition to his knowledge of abstract art of the 20th century in Europe and America. He has sold to both private collectors, and public institutions including: The British Museum, V&A museum, MOMA, National Gallery, and the Royal Collections. He has exhibited in over 150 exhibitions from London to New York, Palm Beach to San Francisco for over thirty years. He is an author of several books on History of Art & Design, broadcaster, television presenter, lecturer, and acknowledged and published expert on watercolour drawings of the New-classical period. 



IMPORTANT DATES

Opening Reception: The Opening Reception is cancelled for this event
Gallery Talk: The Gallery Talk for this show has been cancelled. In lieu of the gallery talk, the judge for this show will provide a video of her comments.
Pick up of Unsold Works: Monday,September 28 - Monday, October 12, 2020.


Awards
Best in Show: One thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) and a future solo show at the RAL in 2022 (concurrent with the 10th Regional Biennial Exhibition).
Juror's Awards of Excellence (3): Two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) each
Honorable Mention (2): One hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) each


Submission Requirements
Each artist may submit up to three (3) works for review. Submitted works must be produced no earlier than 2018 and never have been displayed in any RAL gallery/exhibiton. There is no size restriction for works in this exhibition. Submission images must be less than 4MB each.  Upon each submission, you will receive an email confirming acceptance. You may re-enter the call until the deadline to delete, change, and/or edit your submissions. Pick-up and Delivery
Delivery dates are as noted above. Pick-up dates are within 14 days following the last day of the exhibition. All artwork must be picked up by the artist and/or shipping arrangements prepaid and prearranged by the artist at the end date of the show. RAL is not responsible for the return of any artwork(s) if unclaimed, or when no arrangements have been made. There is a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) / day / piece for any work(s) that remains at the RAL after 14 days following the close of the exhibition.
 
The RAL is not responsible for any wrapping materials or boxes left at the time of delivery.

Insurance:
Although every effort will be made in the safe handling of artwork, Rehoboth Art League will not be held liable for any theft or damage of consigned artwork during the exhibition period. The artist is responsible for packing, shipping, insurance and other handling expenses and the risk of loss or damage incurred in the delivery of the artworks to the RAL. The RAL shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any artworks that occur after their delivery to the gallery and until they are either sold or picked up by the artist. The artist is responsible for the return (by pick-up or delivery) of all unsold work(s).

Display
Works will be displayed at the discretion of the Exhibitions Director and all work is to remain on display throughout the entire length of the exhibition.  All 2-D works must be wall hung ready with wire. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted. Any special requirements for hanging must be discussed with the Exhibitions Director in advance of delivery.


Commissions
All works must be available for sale. The artist will receive a sixty-five percent (65%) payment for any works sold during this exhibition. Following the exhibition: the artist must pay a thirty (35%) percent commission to the RAL for any work(s) sold outside of the RAL to a buyer who was introduced to the work(s) while on display during this exhibition. 


Any works remaining at the RAL after two (2) months past the end date of this exhibition may be forfeited to the Rehoboth Art League.
